Doodle pioneered the group poll. Ours come without the catch.
Doodle made the group poll a household name, and plenty of people still reach for it first.
As of October 2026, its free plan covers a single group poll with up to 10 time options, and both you and your participants see ads.
SavvyCal polls are free on every plan, with no cap and no ads. Your calendar sits under the times you propose, and when the group picks a winner, it lands on your calendar with the invites sent.

Is SavvyCal a good Doodle alternative?
For the person running the poll, yes. Polls are free and unlimited, your calendar sits under the times you propose, and the winning time becomes a meeting with invites in one click. For the people voting, Doodle offers more ways to answer.
Doodle details are from Doodle’s plans page and help center as of October 2026.
When is Doodle the better fit?
- “If need be” answers
- Doodle voters can answer “if need be”. SavvyCal voters pick the times that work.
- Deadlines and reminders
- Doodle’s paid plans set deadlines and remind people who haven’t voted. SavvyCal polls do neither.
- All-day options
- SavvyCal options are time slots of one length, up to 12 hours. They can’t be whole days.
Hosts love it. Their guests do too.
Love the fact that those booking meetings can overlay their calendar to easily find a time. Very easy to make multiple calendar links and access them via the Chrome Extension!

We’ve been using it for hiring and with a large team. I’m convinced that SavvyCal is the only calendar booking tool on the market that’s tackling the problem in the right way.

SavvyCal makes me feel better about finding time to meet with clients, partners, and colleagues. It goes beyond similar tools by removing the awkwardness of imposing your schedule upon others.

Questions, answered
Something we didn’t cover? Drop us a line.
Is there a free Doodle alternative without ads?
Yes. SavvyCal meeting polls are free on every plan, with no ads and no limit on polls, proposed times, or voters. Voters don’t need an account.
Does SavvyCal have an “if need be” vote like Doodle?
No. SavvyCal voters pick the times that work for them. If your group relies on “if need be” answers, Doodle has them.
Can SavvyCal send poll reminders or close a poll on a deadline?
No. A SavvyCal poll stays open until you schedule a time or close it, and it doesn’t remind people who haven’t voted.
What happens when the group picks a time?
Click Schedule on that time. SavvyCal puts the meeting on your calendar, sends invites to the people you choose, with a video link if you like, and closes the poll.
Does SavvyCal have scheduling links too?
Yes. For one-on-one and team meetings, people book from your link without a vote. Scheduling links need Basic, $10 per user per month billed annually.
